This ride is for those that have done some basic horse riding before. The route goes down to the bottom of the hill through the woodland and joins a bridlepath that takes a scenic climb then joins the road back to the stables.
There are plenty of opportunities to trot on this ride and it lasts approximately 1hour. All ride leaders that accompany this ride are also mounted so you need to be comfortable controlling the horse by yourself in walk and trot.
These rides take you over the fell side and through some stunning Lake District countryside. The terrain is very varied and the rides are a good introduction to Trail Riding. There are several opportunities to canter in the open.
Riders must be able to canter in balance in an open environment and have had the experience of riding out as this is a faster-paced ride.
The Full Day Rides start to explore the true nature of the Lake District and traverse the edges of the local hills and valleys giving spectacular views! There are also many canters and open spaces to truly experience your horse’s abilities.
Hampsfell Day Ride
We start off the ride heading through the local forest plantations over the fells and down into Cartmel valley. We then climb up the other side of the valley over Hampsfell which gives fantastic opportunities to canter as well as stunning views of Morecambe Bay. There is then a lunch stop at a friendly local cafe before heading back over Canny Hill, a bridleway that runs over the common and back to the Riding Centre. This is a very exciting and challenging ride making memories you will never forget.
Home of some of the most memorable trail riding in the UK, we invite you to join our trail rides into the Lake District Mountains.
