Pony Club at Bigland Hall Equestrian
Bigland Hall Equestrian runs a very successful and highly popular Pony Club every Saturday afternoon..Designed for ages 6 to 16 it offers both girls and boys the oportuntiy to develop equine skills and enjoy a new and challenging hobby/sport:
As part of the 3 hour, weekly program your child could expect to:   Bigland Hall Equestrian Pony Club


 

  • Work towards and achieve the accredited Pony Club badge system.
  • Work towards the Pony Club examinations for sylibi click here.
  • Participate in one hours riding, either as part of a structured lesson in our indoor school or a supervised leisure ride around Bigland Hall Estate.
     
  • Participate in an hourly stable/ horse management lesson which covers all aspects of horse/pony care. 
  • Help in the general running of a busy equine yard which could entail : Grooming and tacking up, stable management, tack cleaning and general yard duties.
  • Be properly supervised at all times by trained members of staff and in line with Health and Safety, Child Protection policy.

Pony Club is an ideal sport or hobby for young people as it not only teaches them a new skill but ultimatley encourages many aspects of overall development including : Self confidence,personal growth and responsibility, team work and most of all a "fun and active club atmosphere" where they can meet and make new friends.

News Update

This year we will be selecting a team to represent us for the Pony Club National Championships that will be held on the 17th August at Draycott Manor. The team will consist of two 12 years and under and two 13 years and over members. We will be holding 3 qualifying competitions over the next few months. The four riders with the highest accumulative scores over the 3 competitions in their relevant class will be given the opportunity to represent our Pony Club at the National Championships. 

 

Well done to all the pony club members who took part in the Road Rider Badge on the 9th April. 
Congratulations to : 

Olivia Bell, Fredrick Holiday and Becky Vallis who passed the Road Rider Mini Badge 

Ellie Dwan, Holly Ransome, Beth Linane, Catherine Bloom, Megan Odonavan, Joss Stewardson and Elizebeth Holiday who all passed the Full Road Rider Badge!
