Intermediate Lessons


The Intermediate lessons are designed for people with some riding experience who want a more serious understanding of riding.
They will help you build on the basic foundation you already have, as well as teach you some of the more advanced techniques such as a controlled canter, and sitting trot without stirrups.

Intermediate Lessons - Level 1

These Lessons are suitable for people that are comfortable performing all the movements from Beginners Level 3.

Suitable for adults and children.

What you will learn:

  • Learn Sitting trot without stirrups, and how to still maintain a good position and seat
  • Be able to control and change the speed of the trot
  • Learn more complex school movements such as 15m Circles and Three Loop Serpentines
  • Develop a knowledge of the horses leg patterns in Walk, Trot and Canter.


Price - £35 to £40 for private, dependent on which instructor takes the lesson

            £25 to £30 per person for a shared lesson.

Intermediate Lessons - Level 3

These Lessons are suitable for people with the knowledge and ability to fulfil the level 2 criteria.

Suitable for adults and children.

What you will learn:

  • Develop a balanced position in canter
  • Learn to control the horse in canter
  • Learn to perform basic school movements in canter
  • Develop your knowledge of Bend and Suppleness of the horse, and why it is important
  • Identify the correct canter lead and make the nessesary corrections


Price - £35 to £40 for private, dependent on which instructor takes the lesson

            £25 to £30 per person for a shared lesson.

Intermediate Level 2

These lessons are suitable for people that can perform the movements learnt in level 1 confidently.

Suitable for adults and Children

What you will learn:

  • Continue your sitting trot without stirrups so that it no longer affects your seat and position.
  • Develop contol and balance of the horse through the more complex school movements
  • Learn how to perform a controlled canter transition, and how to the correct position to maintain during canter.
  • Learn what is the correct and incorrect canter lead, and why this is important.

Price - £35 to £40 for private, dependent on which instructor takes the lesson

            £25 to £30 per person for a shared lesson.
