Mares in Unison (no replies)

Just in case anyone missed the unmissable Mares in Unison did perform at the Easter Gymkhana to the delight of the onlookers. Come on the sight of four grown women on horseback wearing bunny ears was not something they wanted to miss!!! After seeing all the newspaper articles I don't know if we're famous or infamous!! Flash decided the day before that having a rider in such attire was just so beneath him and retired from the event, although he did make objection on the day, but Derby stepped in as understudy at the last minute and gave a fantastic performance! Hey Amanda those sticky seat jods really do work as you proved when Baileys decided he wanted to inspect the floor, well done you!! Hey joking apart, Dawn did a really great job in training us for this in only four weeks and it must be remembered that whilst some of our group had in their youth been top class riders and others virtual novices no one had ever done anything of this nature before. We all have an even greater respect for our children and their mentors because of this experience.

The whole point of doing this was to raise money to get a Pony Club Team out and about, it's not cheap to send a team out. Mares in Unison through sponsorship have raised in the region of £400. We will, hopefully, be able to confirm the names of a team and a competition date in the very near future.

However, in order to enable a team to keep on going we need to continue to raise funds. Remember all Pony Club members benefit from funds raised, we have already purchased equipment from previous fund raisers.

So any ideas are welcome, they do not have to be equine orientated the only thing is can they please be fun, or if anyone knows of a business or person who would be willing to give sponsorship to our Pony Club they can contact Sheelagh at Bigland Hall Equestrian.

Thanks for your supprt
